The duties and responsibilities of the Winston County Medical Examiner/Coroner include the investigation of the cause and manner of deaths in Winston County. The Office of the Coroner is maintained on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis. Deaths that fall under the Coroner's jurisdiction include all sudden deaths - traffic fatalities, deaths in the emergency room, hospice deaths, etc.
